By accessing or using Matchmaker.lk, Sri Lanka's free matrimony platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before creating a profile or using any features of the site.

1. Eligibility

To use Matchmaker.lk, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be genuinely seeking a marriage partner for yourself
• Be legally eligible to marry under the laws of Sri Lanka or your country of residence
• Not be a current subscriber or member of any other matrimony site submitting profiles on behalf of others for commercial purposes

2. Profile Submission

When you create a marriage proposal profile on Matchmaker.lk, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, truthful, and up-to-date information
• Submit only one profile per person
• Not create profiles on behalf of others without their explicit consent
• Not impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity
• Not post fake, spam, or misleading profiles
• Upload only photos of yourself that you own or have the right to use

3. Acceptable Use

Matchmaker.lk is a platform for genuine Sri Lankan matrimony. You agree not to:

• Use the platform for commercial solicitation, advertising, or any purpose other than finding a marriage partner
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Collect or harvest personal information from other users
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the platform
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform

4. Prohibited Content

Profiles, photos, or messages containing the following will be removed without notice:

• Inappropriate, offensive, or sexually explicit content
• Content that promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination
• Commercial advertisements or solicitations
• Phone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, or other direct contact details in the public profile bio (these belong in the private contact fields)
• Links to external websites in the profile bio

5. Platform Safety and Disclaimer

Matchmaker.lk is an open, free platform. We strongly advise all users to exercise caution:

• Use our site's built-in messaging system to communicate with potential matches
• Only share your personal phone number or direct contact details when you are genuinely comfortable and feel it is safe to do so
• Never share financial information with any user you have not met and verified in person
• Report suspicious profiles immediately using the report function or by emailing [email protected]

Matchmaker.lk is not responsible for any disputes, harm, fraud, or outcomes arising from interactions between users, whether on or off the platform. We do not verify the identity or background of users, and we are not a party to any relationship or agreement between users.

6. Profile Approval and Moderation

All profiles are manually reviewed by our team before going live. We reserve the right to:

• Reject profiles that do not meet our content guidelines
• Remove any profile at any time at our sole discretion
• Permanently block users who repeatedly violate these terms

Profile approval typically takes up to 24 hours. You will receive an email notification when your profile is approved.

7. Removal of Profiles

You may request removal of your own profile at any time by visiting our Remove Listing page and verifying your email address. Profile removal is processed within 24 hours of a verified request.

8. Limitation of Liability

Matchmaker.lk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• The conduct, actions, or representations of any user on or off the platform
• The accuracy or completeness of any profile information
• Any loss, harm, or damage arising from the use of the platform
• Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the service

9. Intellectual Property

The Matchmaker.lk platform, design, and code are the property of Matchmaker.lk. Profile content remains the property of the submitting user, but by submitting a profile, you grant Matchmaker.lk a non-exclusive license to display that content on the platform.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
